My First English Post!

Hi Everybody!

I've created this English Version of the Há-de vir a ter um nome melhor... after seeing the considerable traffic of non-Portuguese speakers in the original!

By no means will this be a copy of the Portuguese Version but it may have pretty similar articles (when relevant). However, there might be articles in the Portuguese Version and not in the English one and vice-versa. The main reason is that the target audience is different. I don't thing that you would be so terrible interested in a event in my hometown since you couldn't take part in it. Other reason is artistic: I won't be translating poems, articles too deeply related to the Portuguese culture, etc.

Now back to the Há-de vir a ter um nome melhor..., as you may know, English is not one of my first languages but I want to continuously train and improve it therefore, I would kindly ask you, reader, to point out any gramatical or lexical error you come across with to help me maintain the quality of this Blog.

Concerning the name:
Há-de vir a ter um nome melhor... as you might have guessed, is a Portuguese sentence. It has a meaning similar to It will have a better name... I have chosen that name in a hurry and just because Blogger asked for it since I was still occupied brainstorming the conceptual meaning of creating this Blog and what I would do with it. It was not meant as a joke or as an attempt to be funny however it sticked and I got used to it so, I don't think it will ever have a better name...

The Blog:
The Blog will reflect what I like to do and what I think about certain themes. I have always worked with science and science is what I see as a professional future so, I'll try to keep it away from the regular posts but not away from the Blog! (since not everybody is keen on it)
So, the Há-de vir a ter um nome melhor... will focus on arts, sports, nature, and perhaps a little bit of philosophy

About me:
I've always practiced sports during my life: olympic gymnastics from five to eight, Karate from nine until now and I just recently started rock climbing (4th July 2007). In the middle I also practiced Handball, Kung-fu Shaolin and a little bit of Parkour.
In terms of arts, I've studied Guitar for four years and I used to paint (maybe you'll get to see some of my artworks). Now I am more inclined to Stencil art and hyper realistic graphite drawings and I'm starting on photography. I also like doing literary art but it is mainly in Portuguese. However, I may give it a try in English.

Well, just felt I should introduce myself since Há-de vir a ter um nome melhor... is, after all, mine!

Hope you enjoy!
Ivo
